Passion for Playing Music
My name is Brent Faddies (aka) DJ BFAD
I’ve had a passion for music since I was a kid. I remember getting my first record player for Christmas when I was eight years old. I would sit for hours just playing records and would bring it in for show and tell at school whenever I could. My love for music flourished as I grew older, fueling my success as one of the Lower Mainland’s best DJs.

Music was always my thing; I was always known for it. It was just a natural progression to turn it into a career. After moving to London to chase the music dream, I spent several years working in a record store—it’s where I built my vast and comprehensive musical tastes and knowledge. When I moved back to Canada, that’s when I decided it was time for DJ BFAD to take over. So many huge DJs used to come into the record store, I’d see what they were buying, learn their tricks, and I knew I had to do it.
Getting the Party Started
My main goal is that everyone has fun and enjoys themselves while soaking in the music. That enjoyment gives me pleasure and enjoyment. Otherwise, I’d be doing something else entirely. Most of the time, my job is to keep the dance floor moving, but I can also create the perfect backdrop for social conversations or spark a corporate event into something memorable, depending on my clients’ needs, and the and the direction the night takes.

I definitely have my own tastes when it comes to music. I hate the cheesy wedding songs, and while that stance has lost me a few gigs, it has opened doors to many more through referrals. Attendees and organizers appreciate my selections and trust me to provide the perfect soundtrack for any event.
Music Taste You Can Trust
With some of the bigger DJ companies, you don’t know who you’re getting for the event. When clients hire me, they get me. They can relax because they know exactly who and what they’re going to get on the day of their event. My reputation is built on attention to detail and a determination to be prepared for every event. I make it a point to get to know whoever is throwing the event. I dive deep to get to know what they want, and when I show up, it feels like I’ve already done the event in my head.

At the end of the day, my priority is simple: to create an experience where everyone can have a great time. Putting something out there that your crowd can enjoy and helping them have a good time—that’s what I strive for with every event I play.
